Family Award - Any Father/son, father/daughter or mother/son, mother/daughter fishing on the same boat that weighs the heaviest two or individual Cobia will recieve a $100 OIFC gift card

TWT levels – Big Fish-$100, High Roller-$250, Spanish Mackerel-$50, King Mackerel-$50, Single Engine-$50

Purpose - Typically the talk and the competitive atmosphere revolves around king mackerel fishing here in the Carolinas. Yet every year quite a few anglers fishing in king mackerel tournaments end up coming back to the dock with Cobia larger than the king mackerel they weighed in. Therefore, this year I decided to create an event that gives fishermen the opportunity to finally reap the benefits of catching the cobia NC's coast has to offer. In addition to adding another species to compete for, this tournament hopes to bring families together by fishing over Memorial Day weekend. The time spent taking a son or daughter fishing can sometimes be overlooked. Lessons learned and memories created while doing such, can be of those that last a lifetime. Tight Lines -

What Makes the Jolly Mon Unique?

    1. It is a one day tournament, with an optional weather day...
This one day approach is a big reason the tournament has been successful. It attracts the family fishermen who believe they have a better shot at winning- or better yet the fishermen who appreciates a good day fishing, not an entire weekend of hard work!
    2. There is no checkout... BUT, there are boundaries..
Fishermen can fish out of any port they choose within boundaries so as long as their lines are not in the water before 7:00am and they are in weight-in line by 5:00pm.  This means easy fishing while always keeping on an even playing field.
    3. It is family oriented...
The Jolly Mon recognizes the importance of the family and fishing and offers a complimentary  dinner for everyone and medallions for all Junior anglers participating in the event. The Jolly Mon is run in an orderly, clean-cut manner.
