"Rock the Dock Prep" | Do Work / OIFC | 06/11/13

Today while we were driving home, Camdyn said Dad I need to get my fishing stuff for the Rock the Dock.  So off to the OIFC we went.  Once we arrived, Camdyn went down the isles asking tons of questions about hooks, swivels, and all the good stuff you would need.  We got some supplies and headed home.  At the house Camdyn sat down on her own and prepped for the Rock the Dock.  We also made a huge accomplishment while prepping, Camdyn learned how to tie her own flounder rigs.  She sat down and tied four.  So the point to this story is that the kids take their fishing just as serious as we do.  The Rock the Dock is a great way to get the kids involved in fishing.  I cant wait to watch the show on the dock Thursday and hope to see all the little ones out there, "Rock'in the Dock".

"Well, it is June" | Tiberias - 22' | 06/10/13

June started off as expected...with the flounder biting well. Then Andrea showed up from no where. The flounder bite has come back to a crawl. Sure we found a couple of short fish today, but sure would have been nice to find a keeper. The water is dirty in most places making it difficult to find the flounder bite. I have turned my attention to hard structure near the lower tides waiting on the redfish to bite. The redfish have saved my tail the last two days. It has been tougher than I would like for this time of year. I will be back at it tomorrow, battling with mother nature and hopefully putting some smiles on some young faces. See ya on the water!

Nicholas Norman and Chris Norman enjoyed a day aboard the World Cat with First Mate Aaron Dew and myself. We began fishing in 115 feet of water and were soon rewarded with their first Mahi. We also caught wahoo and jacks while trolling. As we worked inshore we stopped for some.bottom action, catching sea bass, snapper, and more jacks.

"Post storm conditions" | Choice of Two / OIFC | 06/09/13

Well now that the storm is gone the back waters should clear up. The flounder did bite a little bit on the beginning of the rising tide in Tubbs inlet yesterday. We missed a couple of fish anf decidied to try the Shallotte River. The water was cleaner but they did'nt bite. Clearing conditions this week will help us get back on track.

"Underwater Flounder Video" | Tiberias - 22' | 06/09/13

We have started to see a few more keeper flounder this past week. Tropical Storm Andrea has probably thrown a wrench in the bite for a few days. I will be out there in a couple of hours to check it out. The water looks mighty brown here in the canal. Check out this quick shot of a flounder hooked up underwater earlier this week.

Shipment of bait pins from Rob's Reel Bait came in today.  I picked up mine and it is outstanding.  Even has a place to put a chum block to feed the bait while they wait for the next tournament.  Be sure to stop in and pick one up.  They will go fast.

The 1st picture is of Brian Fimbel & Teak Hemphill with their black fin and cobia they caught at the 390's just before the tropical storm. This isn't the 1st report we've got of possible black fin in as close as the 90's.

Picture 2 is Matt Ritch, a member of Team Sea P A/OIFC who tried his hand inshore.  Matt caught the flounder at the Sunset Bridge on OIFC select mud minnows and a Carolina Rig.

The last pictures are of Brandon (Bonecrusher) Saul's top of the Rodeo Leader Board's 6.5 lb reds.

"share tournament report" | Choice of Two / OIFC | 06/07/13

We fished on sunday which was the roughest of the 2 days but had to because of my daughters dance recital. Caught bait just west of Shallotte inlet and proceeded to 75 ft where I was informed of a good bite the day before.. The weather was nasty and we were immediately covered up with amberjacks 6 at a time.. Left and pushed out a little deaper jumped around trying our best to find a king .. finally around 1230 we got a king run and didn't take long to get the guy to the boat .. We knew we were in the right spot but at this time we were down to only a dozen or so red nosed pogies so we jigged up some baits and threw them out. Seconds later we had a triple header of dolphin.. Then another and a few more jacks so we decided that the weather was getting too bad and baits were looking awful so we called it a day.. Ride in was nice as we ran 35kts the whole way cruising.. The king put us in 13th place for the tournament and had we entered the twt we would of gotten 2nd in the dolphin division. Good tournament with a lot of good competition this year...The good news is the kings are here they just weren't feeding.. Numerous fish were caught on Saturday and the bite gonna get better.. Jolly Mon bite should be good

Hey Corey. The weather was not that bad on Sunday. We fished the 100/400 area and had 18 dolphin up to 41 lbs. Also had a couple of bonito and aj's. Ride home was nice also. Ride out was a little tough though.

"Flounder Pounders" | Tiberias - 22' | 06/07/13

Dennis, Melissa, Wes, and Victoria joined me for a half day of fishing on Thursday morning. Our plan was to catch a few flounder for dinner and give a few redfish the sore mouth later in the trip. The plan could not have come together any better. Melissa and Victoria were the top anglers bringing in several great eating flounder. Victoria landed our biggest redfish just on the 27 inch mark. It was a great day to be on the water with awesome clients and great fishing. Thanks for fishing with me! Roll Tide! See ya on the water!

"Go Pro" | Hail Yeah / OIFC | 06/07/13

Here is a quick video we made with our Go Pro camera showing the different ways to get great action on video.  These cameras are a lot of fun to have on the boat, in the duck blind, or even in the tree stand.  They are easy to use and you don;t have to be as talented as Chris Campbell to make a video.  There are multiple ways to mount these cameras and get footage you never thought was possible.  Have you ever wondered what your favorite grouper rock looks like?  Well, just drop the Go Pro down on the downrigger and you will have your answer.
